Say you like computers and are interested in working in the IT field. There are tons of different careers you can choose from but IT is unique: working in IT gets you good money from the beginning even if you have no degree. Today’s world relies on computer systems. Demand is high, but I guess you know that already.
But how do people enter the IT industry? Typically people study “Information Systems/Computer Science” in a college or university. This is expensive and of long duration for sure. There is another possibility though, look at a few job descriptions in IT. Often a degree is not required.
Information security experts protect organizations against malware, hackers, employee mistakes and natural disasters. They typically work with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, server hardening, etc.
Computer networking involves connecting computers so that they may exchange information through data connections. Area of interest is switches, routers, network protocols, etc.
Programming basically is a writing software (read computer programs), involves developing lists of instructions to manipulate different types of objects like numbers, words, images, sounds, etc.
Cloud Computing is about enabling on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources, often over Internet.
We are a group of IT professionals with 5 to 20 years of experience. Each of us took a slightly different way to get into IT, so we have a very good understanding what it takes. We use this experience to help others do similar things without making the same mistakes that were made along the way. We have an expertise in most IT fields and we market ourselves as an advisor to others looking to work in that area.
